I am a native of Hampton Roads where my family migrated into Virginia in 1906 prior to Chesapeake’s formation as a city. I was raised on a dairy farm with over 100 acres of land and was involved in community services with my family from a young age. I was born into a family of property owners, developers and builders. From my early childhood I worked with my family to develop property, build homes and sell real estate. I believe that buying a home is the most important purchase you will make. It is important to select a Realtor that has knowledge as well as integrity to handle the sale or purchase of a home. Whether you are purchasing as your primary residence or for an investment I have the experience and knowledge to help you obtain all your real Estate goals.

Experience and Knowledge

Development – I owned and participated in the development of Falls Creek, Chesapeake, VA. I worked with engineers and attorneys to get site plan approval. My experience with this project also involved working with geotechnical engineers for soil boring's and ground water testing. I worked with environmental consultants to obtain wetland permits for this project. My experience in this project started with raw land and extended through the platting of lots.

 

Wetlands – I have the experience working with environmental agencies such as the Army Corps of Engineers, D.E.Q. and the Chesapeake Wetlands Board in determining the boundaries and buildable land. I worked closely with environmental consultants and attorneys to obtain wetland permits for various development projects.

 

Investors – I have worked with investors to purchase and develop property for vacation or second homes. My experience with investors and personal experiences have given me the knowledge to deal with 1031 tax deferred exchanges and other tax laws governing like-kind exchanges. I have attended and received certificates for training with 1031 tax deferred exchanges. My experience dealing with clients in the Outer Banks of North Carolina has given me vast experience with vacation rental properties and second homes. My experience and knowledge in this area has brought a new realm of expertise to the team.

New Construction – I have worked with clients as a builder liaison for new construction. My knowledge of construction stems from owning and operating my own contracting company and acting as a general contractor in the building of my own homes. I have remodeled and renovated homes and use these resources to help my clients bring their homes to an excellent position with condition saleability.

Business and Legal – I Worked with the City of Chesapeake for a nine year period partly as a business license inspector for the Commissioner of the Revenue. I owned and operated an electrical contracting business from 1987-2000.

 

Designations – Realtor, CSP, (Certified Sales Professional) SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) –I have worked with Stephen Alexander homes 55+ community called Somerton. I am the preferred listing agent for those who need to sell their home prior to their purchase of their new home.

I have built a team of professionals such as financial planner, attorneys, CPA‛s, and other affiliated businesses as needed, to handle issues concerning clients that are 55 years and older. We have the knowledge and experience with the issues that our clients face in this time of their life, and we are well equipped to handle all their needs.

Personal – I am a mother of 2 boys. Family values are very important to me. I enjoy all sports and support my children in their sports. I play tennis and softball. I love to cook and enjoy entertaining friends. I attend Faith Alive Ministries and have a deep spiritual faith in God. I enjoy all types of people and enjoy helping others achieve their dreams and goals.
